During our intensive one week project of Fashion Trends in the market we examined six current day trends of choice. Against the clock we scurried around Dublin on a day trip in fabric stores and high end shops seeking price tags , fabric details and our collection pictures. Avoiding ever security guard and retail assistant in Dublin we set to work!. It was an exciting project with a variety of outcomes.from getting that vital picture , missing a price tag and been asked to leave shops for photographing clothes!. The results were worth the manic exploration. Below I have summarised my vision of the current market trends and included mood boards support. I hope you enjoy!.

Monochrome Explosions

Rocking the catwalks in Milan this Autumn/ Winter 2011 are bold luxurious colours delivered on cool confident silhouettes. These solid sensational colours will brighten up those cold dark winery nights. The pure hues and simplicity of structure have cast aside the need for complex detailing of prints and extravagant range of fabric structures. Smooth Cotton and soft jersey is favourable to stand firm and tenaciously explode the body dwelling under the garment.

Graphic Generation

Our digital based lives are so important it would be impossible to escape the thirst we have to combine our graphic designs and fashion fixes. Hence transporting our all seeing geometric eyes into cairoscoro prints was the next step and everyone from pauper to princess has jumped on board. Graphic prints have saturated the streets and given us a wide variety of designs transporting us into the next generation.

Eastern Floral

Eastern Europe has always been a dome of beauty with their refined fabrics, tulle, chiffon, and silk portraying romantic messages. we have adapted this sophisticated and glamorous style in this seasons look. The youthful twist of feminine prints on satin based fabric provides warm lustre with a provocative take to remove the chill out of the misty dark nights.

Fusions Fantasy

A combination of knit and fur have taken the fashion world by storm. Exceptionally cold weather have empowered designers across the world to fuse two of the most values materials together to provide the ultimate demur and essential warmth. The designers showcase of combinations is exceptional in the offset of soft lustre and Matt touch showcasing glamour from high street to high end.

Country Society

Generation after generation wool and tweed have been married together demonstrating warmth and endurance and this season is no different. Both man and women are combining their love of strong tweed and refined wools to elude their air of sophistication and also embellishing woven surfaces to create a personal twist on modern society. The revamping has been given a more youthful twist worn by metro sexual men.

Boy School Daze

The concept of the "dead poets society " film lends itself to the notion pf boy school daze with chunky woolen scarves, duffel coats, dark blazers, shirts and skinny ties. These wreck less years have become centre stage in the world of young men. The simple tailored shapes stand proud encapsulating the body in a cocoon of youthful splendour. This i believe will be around for numerous seasons to come.
