the beautiful art of silk screening!!

Through the journey of exploration on this project i examined alot of different avenues using various materials. Wondering how to show my concept of protection along with the acceptance and rejection of society. Whilst pounding the streets of Limerick City observing people in their daily lives a common factor protection came in the form of coats, Big ones, small ones , woolly ones, dressy ones but everyone had one. Hiding behind big collars and loads of layers, it reminded me of peoples minds so many layers of thoughts, feeling and emotions all either being boldly expressed  of carefully hidden away for fear of being damaged. My study of  eyes at this stage helped my to see that the eye is " the key to the soul " and it tells more in one glance than a thousand words could express. With all of my knowledge under my hat, i went back to the college and sought about silk screened material with eyes open on one plane cotton a safe plain soft grey colour. showing the fitting in to society without wanting to draw attention to oneself. On the other shocking pink material i printed eyes closed expressing the inner 'wild child' which is in us all, not caring about opinions and comments which may follow.
